INTRODUCTION
This course is tailored to individuals who wish to learn Laptop repair after completed the Basic Electronics Troubleshooting And Repair Course.
TARGET GROUP
The Laptop Troubleshooting and Repair Course is targeted at IT Managers, IT Engineers, IT Lecturers, Technicians, Technical College Students, Electronic Hobbyists, and Computer Owners.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
At the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Dis-assemble and Re-assemble Laptop
- Use common servicing tools for Laptops
- Understand Laptop motherboard different section with the help of Block Diagram
- Read Laptop Schematic Diagram and troubleshoot the Laptop circuit.
- Use DC ammeter, light bulb method to isolate power supply/adapter problem
- Identify common parts/components that usually failed
- Step By Step In Tracing & Identifying Bad Components
- Testing SMD components and measurement.
- Find the right value or substitution part number for replacement
- Find the right place to buy replacement parts
- Know the common problems and solutions for Laptops
- Repair or Replace/Modify inverter board for Laptops
- Replace LCD screen/keyboard/backlight
- Remove Laptop/Bios password
- Perform Preventive Maintenance for Laptops
- Troubleshoot Processor/Video Graphic Chip and EEprom Circuit.
- Use an oscilloscope to diagnose and repair motherboard problem.
- Perform voltages testing on power supply and motherboard
- Use an EEprom/Flash Rom Programmer (Copier) to copy EEprom/Flash Rom data for troubleshooting purposes.
- Use a Rework Station techniques in replacing SMD components on circuit board
- Understanding the basic of Reballing
- Trace shorted component in Laptop motherboard
- Use Laptop Post Card for tracking down the bad section in Laptop Motherboard
- Locate intermittent problem in mainboard using hair dryer and coolant
- Use Huntron tracker to compare identical boards to locate faulty component and many other tips, tricks and techniques
PRE-REQUISITES
- Completed the Basic Electronics Troubleshooting And Repair Course
- Or must have at least 3 years of experience in Electronics Repair
The course materials, lectures and lab exercises are in English.
(Upon request, the lecturer can conduct in Mandarin and Bahasa Malaysia)
